Product Day 2026: Enviolo brings Europe’s cycling industry together at new Headquarters in Amsterdam

Enviolo hosted the third edition of its annual Product Day last week at its new headquarters in Amsterdam, welcoming over 40 leading product managers from across Europe for a gathering centered on innovation, celebration, and collaboration. Founded by Enviolo, Product Day is an initiative designed to unite the cycling industry around shared challenges and opportunities. By creating a platform for open dialogue, Enviolo continues to champion a stronger, more connected future for cycling.

This came to life in the moments of recognition throughout the day. Enviolo honored two brands that received industry recognition in spring 2026 for outstanding product design. This year’s spotlight was on Diamant for the Suvea Style and Optima for the Lovens Explorer 2. The celebrations extended beyond the awards, because also Kalkhoff claimed victory in the legendary Enviolo pub quiz and will be rewarded with an organized drinks reception by Enviolo’s Product team at their facility in Emstek, Germany.

From there, the focus shifted toward the bigger questions. Professor Deborah Nas of Delft University of Technology challenged the audience to rethink how innovation really works and where it might lead mobility next. Drawing examples from global disruptors across industries, she emphasized that while innovation can redefine markets, sustained success requires continuous evolution, quality, and customer focus.

from selling bikes to selling dreams

Also Robert Margevicius (Specialized Bicycle Components) took the stage and delivered a keynote that resonated deeply with attendees, a powerful reflection on the emotional and societal value of cycling. Framed as a “love letter to the bike,” his talk called for a commercial reset: shifting focus from selling products to selling dreams. He underscored cycling’s role not only as a sustainable mode of transportation but also as a catalyst for freedom, community, and health.

The keynotes culminated into a panel discussion moderated by Omar El Nayal (Enviolo), joined by Deborah Nas, Robert Margevicius, Erik Bronsvoort (Circular Cycling), Joost Bakker (Giant), Julien van Winden (Veloretti), and Aard Rock (Lucien). What followed was a debate on whether the industry is pushing innovation in the right direction or creating products that risk becoming too complex for the riders it aims to attract.  But attention also turned to other topics, ranging rom emerging categories such as the industry’s use of data, fat bikes and leasing models to the importance of long-term serviceability and alignment with “right to repair” regulations.

The afternoon, Enviolo’s Data Analyst Dr. Aakash R. Chavan, provided an exclusive preview of the Envision Bike Index, an in-house initiative to better understand cycling behavior within Europe and the levers that can drive adoption of cycling. The day concluded with a walking dinner and informal discussions, offering a chance to connect further and reflect on the themes of the day.

Over the last decade, e-bikes have become increasingly complex. To bring value to our bikers we require to simplify our products again, focus on reliability and serviceability and operate in a more cost-conscious manner to eventually bring more people on bikes. At Enviolo, we are committed to driving this shift together with our partners.
