One year into its ‘envision’ journey, Enviolo shares its first
Sustainability Report and early progress.

Amsterdam, June 3, 2025 – World Bicycle Day – One year ago, on this day, Enviolo introduced envision — its ambitious and holistic sustainability strategy — and invited the cycling industry to take a bold step toward a more responsible future. Today, we’re proud to release our first-ever Sustainability Report, sharing what we’ve achieved in our first year and where we’re heading next.

Rooted in the core pillars of Thriving planet, Empowered community, and Responsible business, envision lays out 11 ambitious targets to be achieved by 2030 — from cutting our carbon emissions and increasing recycled content in our products, to improving diversity and safeguarding human rights across our supply chain. While we know this is a long-term journey, the first year has already shown what’s possible when purpose meets action. It’s proven that even bold goals can start to take shape when teams, partners and values move in the same direction.

“We wanted to go beyond promises and show real, measurable progress,” said Omar El Nayal, Enviolo’s Director of Strategy and ESG. “This report is our way of being transparent about what’s working, where we’ve learned, and how we’re growing. We’re excited – and humbled – by what the first year has brought.”

Highlights from the first year of envision include:

New eco-design hub

The first successful redesign of a CVP hub using eco-design criteria. The new hub has 19% lower emissions, with no practical change to its functionality.

Electricity savings

All Enviolo locations now run on 100% green electricity, and our suppliers use, on average, 50% renewable electricity to manufacture our products.

Stricter standards

Our audits at Tier 1 and 2 suppliers were expanded to include stricter sustainability and quality standards – inspired by the rigor of the automotive industry.

Second-life product program

We launched our second-life product program, with the first hubs now being prepared for refurbishment and reuse – a step toward closing the loop on materials.

First edition of Product Day

We brought together e-bike companies from across Europe at our Amsterdam HQ for an open conversation about the bicycle’s role in the future of sustainable urban mobility.

“This report is just the beginning,” said Ed Culley, CEO of Enviolo. “Our ambition is to be the most trusted partner in the bike industry – not only for product innovation, but also for doing things the right way. Whether it’s cutting emissions, supporting circularity, or helping more people choose the bike, envision is our blueprint for making a lasting impact in the industry.”

Looking ahead, 2025 brings both new challenges and exciting opportunities.

We’ll continue driving progress across all envision targets, with several standout initiatives on the horizon. Building on the success of our first eco-redesigned hub, we’ll assess whether similar improvements can be made across other products in our portfolio — opening the door to even greater emissions reductions. We’ll also complete the first certification of recycled content in our products and packaging, giving us a clear baseline to guide future improvements. And for the first time, we’ll launch a Supplier Relationship Index, helping us understand how our suppliers view us and how we can become an even stronger, more responsible partner.

We hope this first Sustainability Report inspires action across the industry — because a better bike future is one we have to build together.
