When Cannondale took their Tesoro for an incredible journey from Zermatt to Chamonix on a single charge, it wasn’t just the battery and motor that made it possible. Out in the wilderness, with steep climbs and endless winding passes, every component matters.
That is exactly where the Enviolo Automatic comes in. With our Continuously Variable Planetary (CVP) technology in combination with our Enviolo Automatic Hub Interface (AHI) we ensure the rider is always in the optimal gear. Energy is used efficiently, pedaling remains smooth, and the focus stays on the ride, the scenery, the challenge and the adventure.
HOW DOES THE AUTOMATIC WORKS?
Enviolo Automatic is a fully automatic shifting system that unlocks the full protentional of our stepless CVP technology. Unlike traditional drivetrains, the Enviolo Automatic continuously adjusts the gear ratios based on cadence and speed. Therefore, you never have to shift yourself.
The AHI uses sensors to monitor the cadence and speed. To do this there are two magnet rings located on the Enviolo gear hub.
- Sprocket magnet ring – measures input speed from the rider.
- Hub magnet ring – measures output speed at the wheel.
Inside the Automatic, multiple sensors continuously monitor the E-bikes behavior and performance, enabling precise real time gear adjustments. A compact, high-torque shift motor ensures smooth and accurate shifting even under load. The e-bikes battery system powers the Automatic.
For connectivity, the Automatic supports standard protocols such as CAN bus and Bluetooth, ensuring seamless integration with most e-bike motor systems. Riders can easily set and fine-tune their preferred cadence directly via the compatible display or the Enviolo app.
